EMERGENCY PACKAGE PACKING LIST
The government has advised you to have an emergency kit at home and therefore be somewhat prepared for an emergency. GearPoint can certainly help you with some of these articles, but certainly not everything.
With an emergency package you are well prepared for the first 48 hours after a disaster or emergency. To help you get started, here is a list of items that should definitely be in your emergency kit (you may already have some things at home).
BASIC EMERGENCY PACKAGE
- Bottled water. Think of 3 liters per person per day. (possibly a water filter)
- Food that has a long shelf life, such as nuts, canned vegetables and dried fruit.
- Stay informed via a battery-powered radio and mobile with power bank.
- Flashlight with extra batteries, candles and matches.
- First aid kit with instructions for use.
- Blankets to stay warm .
- Whistle to let emergency services know where you are.
- Cash.
- Tools, such as hammer, saw and cutters.
- Disinfectant gel, toilet paper, wet wipes, sanitary towels, toothpaste and toothbrush.
- Copies of identification documents and a list of important telephone numbers.
- Spare keys to the house and car.
- Gas burner with gas tanks to boil water and/or prepare food.
