Since you don't know what's happening behind the USB charging point, you want to be 100% sure that your device is not being read unintentionally. To have that certainty, you use a USB data blocker.
You place this small USB device between your charging cable and the public USB charging point. Thanks to this device, only the power is now passed from the charging point to your device, and all data communication to and from your device is 100% cut off.
